La Cachette – a cosy base

In short I would recommend la Cachette as a cosy base for a skiing holiday. We were a group of eight people (three couples, two singles) visiting for a weekend of skiing. The chalet was located very close to the Saint Foy resort, and within easy access ~30 minutes to Val d’Isere. The chalet was very comfortable and ideal for our purposes (essentially a place to sleep, cook and relax after a day on the slopes). It was very clean and well decorated. The lay out of the chalet enabled us, even as a group of eight, to have sufficient space, separation and privacy when required (eg for people resting/going to bed early). Each of the three bedrooms had a good shower so no long waits. There were some extra services provided by the hosts that the made a large difference to our stay. Victoria and her family were welcoming and friendly without being overbearing or intrusive. They provided excellent local knowledge and her husband is a ski instructor, so if anyone required lessons they were available. Some personal touches provided the icing on the cake for the visit. Breakfast in the morning was a good start to the day, and then when we came home after a day on the slopes the fire was lit and burning. In addition, tea and scones were also waiting for us. Combined these made a huge difference to some cold, tired and hungry skiers. If we return to the region we would to stay there again.
